Sandie Bishop joined the Aspen Words Advisory Board in the fall of 2015. She also serves on the board of the Aspen Music Festival & School as well as the Bishop Family Foundation. She has served on many other boards over the years, both in Aspen and in her hometown Knoxville, Tenn, including the Aspen Center for Integrative Health, the Aspen Historical Society, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, East Tennessee Historical Society, Knoxville Museum of Art, the Knoxville Ballet, and many others. She founded the Support Services Department at the Thompson Cancer Survival Center in Knoxville and was a counselor there for eight years. Sandie has a B.A. in Human Services from Memphis State University and a degree in Psychology/Counseling from the University of Tennessee.
