How do we write about hard or emotional things — in any genre — in a way that is meaningful to others? How can our words “hit home” for readers — those who know us and those who don’t? This generative workshop will provide an opportunity for writers at all levels to explore, through the craft of writing, the things that challenge or inspire them (love, family, community, personal loss or grief, the environment, peace and justice issues and more). Gary will guide and push participants to move beyond the confessional diary, to reach for words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs that have the power to connect with and transform others.
Instructive and discussion-based course open to writers of all levels. No manuscript submission required.
Optional hike to follow the workshop.
Price of the workshop includes the public talk on Friday evening.
Special rate ($100) for Aspen Writers’ Network members.
