Moira Crone won the 2009 Robert Penn Warren Award from the Fellowship of Southern Writers for the body of her work.  The citation called her “a writer’s writer…with a musical ear and an epic heart for her beleaguered, if often witty characters.” Her recent works are The Ice Garden, a novel of psychological suspense set in the South in the 1960’s, and the dystopian The Not Yet, selected as a finalist for the 2013 Philip K. Dick Award for science fiction paperback of the year, her first work in that genre. Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Oxford American, Image Journal, and Southern Review, among other magazines, as well as over two dozen anthologies.  Former director of the MFA program at LSU, she left full time teaching in 2009 to devote herself to her writing. Since then, she has given readings and workshops at conferences in Europe, Singapore, Mexico, and The Bahamas as well as throughout the US. She lives in New Orleans.

Copies of The Ice Garden are available through the CATCH & RELEASE free books program!
