Listen to Podcasts on Aspen Ideas to Go and First Draft
Aspen Ideas to Go
We are proud to partner with the Aspen Institute to bring you podcasts from Aspen Words’ events. Aspen Ideas To Go is a weekly show featuring fascinating speakers who have presented at Aspen Institute programs. Speakers from Winter Words, Summer Words, and other AW programs will be featured on the Aspen Ideas to Go podcast channel on iTunes and SoundCloud.
Unfamiliar with podcasting?
A podcast is akin to an audio or video program available through the internet. You can either stream episodes (via iTunes or SoundCloud) or download episodes for later. When you download a podcast onto your phone, tablet, or computer, you can listen to it any time, even without an internet connection. Podcasts are perfect for car rides, walking the dog, running on the treadmill — you get the picture.
Get episodes delivered to your device by using an app.
For Android phones and tablets, try the Stitcher app. Get that from Google Play. In Stitcher, search for Aspen Institute audio and click the plus sign (+) to add it to your Favorites List. Now go to the Favorites List. Click the gear in the upper right corner to select automatic downloading.
After launching in 2015, Aspen Ideas to Go has featured two Aspen Words speakers: Cheryl Strayed and Michael Lewis.
Aspen Public Radio – First Draft
Aspen Public Radio often features Aspen Words’ visiting authors on First Draft, a program that highlights the voices of writers as they discuss their work, their craft and the literary arts.
Featured authors include James Salter, Ann Patchett, Dani Shapiro, Andre Dubus III, and many others. We’ve compiled some of our favorite First Draft episodes featuring Aspen Words alumni right here on our website.
