Last week, the National Book Foundation announced its longlist of 10 authors under consideration for the 2016 National Book Award for fiction, which celebrates the best in American literature. On that list were two former Aspen Words Writers in Residence: Brad Watson (Miss Jane) and Adam Haslett (Imagine Me Gone). Both worked on early drafts of their novels during month-long writing residencies at the Catto Shaw ranch in Woody Creek, an idyllic, quiet escape ten miles from downtown Aspen.
To celebrate, here are some photo highlights from their Aspen Words residencies.
