After leaving Aspen\, she completed a graduate degree with the drama department at UC Irvine and settled in Los Angeles. Malone spent much of 2014 at The Denver Center\, starring as Molly Brown in the world premiere of a wholly reimagined version of The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
