Critically-acclaimed YA author Jandy Nelson spent the month of May 2015 in the Roaring Fork Valley as the Aspen Words Writer in Residence. Jandy spent the month working on her new novel, visited an English class at Aspen Country Day School as part of the Writers in the Schools program, and did a public talk and reading at the Basalt Regional Library. Jandy Nelson’s novel I’ll Give You the Sun won the 2015 Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature, and was selected as a Best Book of the Year by The New York Times, Time Magazine, NPR, Boston Globe, Publishers’ Weekly, School Library Journal, Booklist, Amazon, among many others. Jandy received her BA from Cornell University, an MFA in poetry from Brown University and another MFA in writing for children and young adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is the author of one previous young adult novel, The Sky is Everywhere, and is currently working on her third book, The Fall Boys and Dizzy in Paradise.   PRESS
