Kerry Egan joined Aspen Words as a Writer in Residence in 2015, where she worked on a book of essays about her experiences talking to the dying as a hospice chaplain. She read from her work-in-progress to a standing-room-only crowd at the Woody Creek Community Center. 

BIO
Kerry Egan is a mother, hospice chaplain, and writer.  She is the author of Fumbling: A Pilgrimage Tale of Love, Grief, and Spiritual Renewal on the Camino de Santiago (Doubleday, 2004). Her work has appeared in many national print and online publications, including CNN.com, where her essays on her work in hospice have been read over a million times, and she’s been featured on CNN’s Morning Edition and on PBS’s Religion and Ethics Newsweekly. She’s currently working on a book, forthcoming from Riverhead/Penguin, about how the dying make meaning of their lives.  She received an M. Div. from Harvard University and B.A. from Washington and Lee University, and lives with her husband and children in Columbia, South Carolina.  PRESS
