Nancy Reisman is the author of two novels, Trompe L’Oeil and The First Desire, and the short story collection House Fires, which won the Iowa Short Fiction Award. Her stories have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Tin House, Narrative, Five Points, Yale Review, Subtropics, Michigan Quarterly Review, Best American Short Stories 2001, and O. Henry Prize Stories 2005. She’s received awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Foundation for Jewish Culture, the Tennessee Commission for the Arts, the MacDowell Colony, and the Bogliasco Foundation. She grew up in Western New York and now lives in Nashville, where she teachers creative writing at Vanderbilt University.
