Samyak Shertok was a 2019 Writer in Residence and gave a FREE public talk + reading at Hooch in Aspen on Tuesday, August 20. Shertok was also an Emerging Writer Fellow during the 2018 Aspen Summer Words writers conference and literary festival. 

Shertok Originally from Nepal, Shertok’s honors include an Aspen Words Emerging Writer Fellowship in poetry, a Northern Greece International Fellowship and the Bondurant Prizes for poetry and fiction. His poems appear or are forthcoming in The Cincinnati Review, Waxwing, House of Snow: An Anthology of the Greatest Writing About Nepal, The Kathmandu Post, La.lit and elsewhere. A recipient of scholarships and fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center, the Tebot Bach Foundation and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, he recently performed his poetry at TEDxUniveristyOfMississippi.
