Rich Garvin
Rich Garvin relocated to Colorado from the San Francisco Bay area in 2020 and now divides time between Aspen and Denver. In 2022, he began the pursuit of acquiring an independent bookstore. Alongside business partner Kwame Spearman, Rich made a bid to acquire the iconic Tattered Cover bookstore out of bankruptcy. Although ultimately outbid by Barnes & Noble, the experience catalyzed a new vision, and they are now preparing to launch the Denver Book Society in central Denver, set to open in early fall 2025. Prior to this venture, Rich built a successful career operating a conference management company with offices in San Francisco, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. Outside of professional endeavors, he is an avid reader—dedicating an hour each morning to books—and enjoys racquet sports, biking, and skiing.
